  Alan grew up in Middle Tennessee and obtained his undergraduate education at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.  A former Paramedic, and with extensive experience in both the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit of what was Baptist Hospital and the Cardiovascular Intensive Care “Pods” of what is now St. Thomas West Hospital, he was accepted into Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia where he received the Janssen Pharmaceutical Award as the outstanding graduate in 1986. With approximately 40 years of clinical anesthesia and intensive care experience, Alan received a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, where his extensive work focused on multi-modal opioid-sparing methods to reduce narcotic needs both during and after surgery.  In recognition of his outstanding contribution to practice and to the betterment of the profession, the Tennessee Association of Nurse Anesthetists Board of Directors presented Dr. Davenport with the 2017 Practitioner of the Year Award at their annual meeting in Murfreesboro. As President and Director of Clinical Services for both Mid South Anesthesia, PC, and IntraVenous Solutions, PC, Dr. Davenport strives to foster clinical excellence in all areas of health care. 

 Stuart was born and raised in rural west Tennessee. He completed his degree in Nursing at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.  He continued his education and training as a critical care nurse at the Trauma Center at UT Medical Center. He began his career in anesthesia at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis and has been a proud member of the Mid South Anesthesia team in Nashville since 2017. In his spare time, He enjoys gardening, cooking, traveling the globe as much as possible, and spending time with his family and dog.
